March 16 is Fast Approaching!
March 16? Not quite St. Patrick’s Day – but an important day on the pro bono calendar.
One pioneering aspect of the Law Firm Pro Bono Challenge® is the inclusion of an accountability mechanism and an outcome measurement tool through its annual reporting requirement. Reporting season for calendar year 2011 is now open and the deadline for reporting is March 16th. The reporting forms are available here.
Challenge Signatories make a substantial commitment to pro bono service, a commitment that is making a real difference in their communities and around the world. We urge you to assist us in communicating the good news about the work of law firms to our colleagues in the legal profession and to the public by your prompt return of the reporting form, and by sharing your accomplishments and news with us. Thank you to those firms which have already returned their completed forms.
New firms with 50 or more lawyers are welcome to join the Challenge at any time of the year and are given a grace period before the reporting requirement kicks-in. Please contact Christine Sutherland for assistance in becoming a leader in law firm pro bono. Interested in jumpstarting your firm’s pro bono program? In addition to becoming a Challenge Signatory, several sessions at our upcoming Annual Conference may be just what you need:
- Law Firm Pro Bono 101, on March 28 at 8:30 a.m.
- Transforming Your Pro Bono Program: Back to Basics, on March 28 at 1:45 p.m. – How can your firm rebuild and refocus to transform your pro bono program? This session will offer a variety of practical techniques for repositioning pro bono, developing the right focus and assignments for a changed workforce, rethinking sources of pro bono work, re-energizing your firm’s pro bono program, and improving pro bono performance.
If you have questions or would like to register for the Conference, please send an email to PBIEvents@courtesyassoc.com or call 202.973.8720. Hurry – space is limited! We hope to see you there!
