Pro Bono Videos and Recruiting

Check out this new recruiting video from Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP*.  Designed to look like a video clip playing on an iPad, the firm presents an “inside look” into the firm’s pro bono program and early opportunities for associate involvement in pro bono.  Current associates describe their pro bono experience and former Akin Gump Summer Pro Bono Scholars give students a taste of how law students can gain valuable experience as public interest lawyers while working at a large law firm, without having to choose between the two career paths.

Unlike an Annual Report or pro bono section of your firm’s website, a video offers the opportunity for many of the firm’s individual personalities to be on display, and passionate individuals in a video can emphasize a firm’s commitment to pro bono services, which will engage law students.  Also, a video can focus on a single representation in depth or cast a wide net and explore the breadth of a firm’s pro bono program, which can be an exciting, collaborative project for the firm to assemble.  It is also a mode of publicizing the public interest organizations with which you partner on pro bono projects.
